Braiding Your Hair into a Fishbone
One of the most unqiue styles of a pony tail is a fishbone braid. For years, people have envied the rare girl that walks around with the fishbone braid. Also called the "fishtail" and "herringbone" braid, all the names reflect the appropriate look of the fish backbone for which it is named after.
However, few people have really mastered the fishbone braid. That is until now, of course. This is your step-by-step guide to braiding yourself the perfect fishbone braid!
Step 1:
Pull all your hair into a ponytail. If you have layered hair, this might be trickier. This style works best on long styles with few to no layers.
Step 2:
Divide your hair into two sections. These sections should be equal. Take a 1 inch piece of hair from underneath the left side and cross it over to the right side of your hair.
Step 3:
Hold the ponytail with your left thumb. Take a 1 inch piece of hair from underneath the right side.
Step 4:
Cross this section over to the left. Now hold the right side of the ponytail with your right thumb. Repeat steps 2-4 until you have your full length fishbone ponytail. Secure the ends with a hair band.
Imagine the possibilities of the beautiful fishbone ponytail when it's dressed up with some fancy hair accessories. This look is appropriate for women of all ages, races, and styles!
